植物光合作包括光能的吸收、能量轉(zhuǎn)換、電子傳遞、ATP的合成以及CO2的固定等步驟,這一過程主要在植物的葉綠體的類囊體膜上完成的。類囊體膜上存在四種關(guān)鍵的蛋白復(fù)合體:光系統(tǒng)II(PS II)、Cytb6/f復(fù)合體、光系統(tǒng)I(PS I)和ATP合成酶,這四種復(fù)合體協(xié)同作用,共同完成光反應(yīng)。光系統(tǒng)II上具有捕光色素復(fù)合體(LHC)構(gòu)成的天線系統(tǒng),可以捕獲光能,而光系統(tǒng)I則利捕獲后的能量進(jìn)行原初光化學(xué)反應(yīng)。Cytb6/f復(fù)合體在電子傳遞過程中起著至關(guān)重要的作用,ATP合成酶則負(fù)責(zé)合成ATP,為植物細(xì)胞提供能量。

Rubisco
CO2的固定是利用光反應(yīng)產(chǎn)生的ATP和NADPH合成有機(jī)物的過程,該過程稱為卡爾文循環(huán)。1,5二磷酸核酮糖羧化/加氧酶(Rubisco)是CO2固定過程中的關(guān)鍵限速酶,催化CO2和RuBP(核酮糖-1,5-二磷酸)發(fā)生羧化、然后裂解形成兩個PGA(甘油酸-3-磷酸)分子。所有光合生物都具有由8個大亞基RbcL和8個小亞基Rbcs組成的I型Rubisco,且RbcL折疊到其天然狀態(tài)依賴于葉綠體定位的分子伴侶CPN60的作用。
